Nikola Kurková Klímová
Junior Researcher
Nikola Kurková Klímová is a junior researcher at Peace Research Center Prague.
She is also a Ph.D. student and junior lecturer at the Faculty of Law, Charles University, and a member of the Czech Centre for Human Rights and Democracy.
Research focus
In her research, Nikola currently studies methods and standards of review applied by international arbitral tribunals in investor-state disputes with respect to criminal law matters. In a further project, she focuses on the judicialisation of international relations and jurisdictional conflicts between national courts and international adjudicative bodies.
Apart from international investment law, Nikola also specialises in international criminal law and human rights, particularly the issues of immunities of states and their officials, universal jurisdiction and the use of open-source evidence by international courts and tribunals.

Background
Nikola holds master's degrees in Law and International Relations from Charles University. In 2019, she completed her LL.M. studies as a George Spyrou scholar at Cambridge University where she specialised in Public International Law.
